This Week's Top Stories About Iphone 12 And Apple Watch 6 launch date might have leaked

Apple will unveil the iPhone 12, the Apple Watch 6 and a replacement iPad at a web event on September 8, consistent with a replacement rumor – although until we get confirmation from Apple, nothing is official.

The date was suggested during a tweet by established tipster @ihacktu, along side a tip a few second event on October 27 for brand spanking new iPad Pros, new Macs running Apple Silicon, and perhaps even the long-rumored Apple Glass augmented reality specs.

As AppleInsider points out, the @ihacktu Twitter account does have an inexpensive diary in predictions, and therefore the September 8 date does match Apple's schedule for past years – so while this is often still considerably unconfirmed, it's a minimum of plausible.

These dates do slot in very well with other predictions from other sources too. There have previously been hints from insiders that the Apple Glass device would be announced alongside the iPhone, though it's unlikely that the specs would actually continue sale in 2020.

Cast your mind back and you will remember that the iPhone 11 handsets were unveiled on September 10 – a Tuesday, a bit like September 8. Apple likes to stay to an equivalent routine per annum , so September 8 would make tons of sense from that perspective.

The previous couple of Apple Watch devices have launched in September too, giving us one more reason to think that Apple will want to point out off its new 2020 line at the standard time of year and before the vacation season sales rush.

All that said, we all know that the worldwide pandemic we're living through has had a significant impact on technology supply chains and manufacturing. We've heard time and time again that the iPhone 12 won't be available in September – though in fact there's nothing to prevent Apple announcing it several weeks before sales start.

We're getting to need to wait and see what kind of schedule Apple eventually decides on, but if this rumor seems to be true, there's getting to be tons of exciting new Apple hardware to require a glance at in September and October.
